More info
Will it be anonymous?
Yes, all replies are anonymous.
How does it work?
You have 70 points to spend. For each area, we ask you to allocate a number of points from 0 to 5 – the more points you give to an area, the more important you think it is.
Not everything can be a priority so the more points you spend on one area, the less you will have to spend on another.
Use your mouse (or your finger on mobile devices) to move the sliding button for each area. You can change your allocation of points as much as you want.
- Each area has an info button. If you want more information about an area, click on the (i) button beside it and a short explanation will appear. After reading this, click on ‘Close’ to bring you back to the survey screen.
- Your ‘Points Spent’ and ‘Points Remaining’ will appear at the top of the screen throughout. These will change as you allocate points to show you how many you have left to spend.
Once you are satisfied with how you have allocated your points, click ‘Review and Finish’.
Will I be asked anything else?
After you do the above, you will be directed to a short survey that we ask you to complete.
This survey is optional and you will remain anonymous but in it we ask you to provide certain information regarding where in the country you live, what age group you are in, and some other demographic information.
If you choose to answer, this information will help us better understand the needs and priorities of different sections of our communities and help us understand what is important to them.
What about garda resources?
While the survey is focused on policing services, the PCSA is aware that all of these services require the right amount of resources to be delivered, i.e. members and staff with the right training, cars, finance, and technology.
So, as well as this online consultation, we are engaging with garda personnel throughout the country to better understand what resources requirements they have in each of these areas.
This will inform the final Priorities.
If you wish to make a comment on resources, you can do so in the open text box provided after you spend your points.
